Chat with InsiderViewpointcom
Rob Holden of ReadersRoom.com had a chance to catch up with Richard Reed at a recent conference and chat about the success of InsiderViewpoint.com and how the latest innovation to Vacation Timeshares was created. Following is an excerpt from their interview
Q: Richard, timeshares got a fairly bad rap a number of years ago. Can you tell us how the industry has changed in the last few years, and why you feel the consumer is better protected than ever before
InsiderViewpoint: Yes, many years ago, timesharing was not a regulated organization and in some cases title of property was not clearly given. Today huge industry names are in timeshare, such as Hilton, Marriot, Hyatt, Disney, Four Seasons to name a few. Today, government regulation has helped the consumer and the laws are in the favor of the buyer.
Q: Insiderviewpoint.com has a unique offer for prospective timeshare investors. Can you tell us a bit about that
InsiderViewpoint: Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with several timeshare companies, and with those companies advertising on my web site and paper magazine. Since timesharing is gaining popularity at a record pace, we thought it would be perfect to have one location on the Internet that would allow people a secure feeling of obtaining valuable information without obligation. So, I created an evaluation system where we review the timeshare industry and invite the cream of the industry to participate on our web site. Their participation allows people the ability to come to our web site and select from dozens of cities and various countries a location where they can attend a 90-minute presentation about timeshare vacations without obligation to buy anything. And here is the best part -- besides obtaining free valuable information at the location
of their choice, we also give them $125 just for sitting and listening to the presentation.
Q: And this $125 bonus is theirs regardless of whether they purchase a timeshare or not
InsiderViewpoint: Yes, once they attend the presentation, the timeshare company verifies to us they attended and we mail them a check. Since we deal with dozens of timeshare locations, each location does have slightly different qualifications. Those qualifications are posted on my web site for each location, and again, no one is obligated to buy. They are just obligated to attend and we mail them a $125 check. Additionally, 2 times a year we have a bonus drawing for all the people who signed up to attend a presentation at any location the ability to win a Hawaii or Las Vegas vacation, hotel room with airfare. We deliver this additional bonus to our readers twice a year as a way of saying thank you for participating with our web site.
Q: Now in a recent press release, I read that all of the timeshare companies that are part of this offer are "pre-approved" by Insiderviewpoint.com. Can you tell us a bit about this pre-approval process
InsiderViewpoint: Today, approximately 5,425 resorts worldwide are available to the consumer. I have created a rating system that we do not even disclose to the timeshare companies and by using this rating system we determine who will participate on the web site. We have narrowed down the industry to just a few dozen companies and their locations. The rating system takes the following items into consideration before we allow a timeshare company to participate on the web site:
*
Location of Vacation Ownership / Timeshare Resort
*
Price
*
Quality of Resort
*
Construction quality of the Unit
*
Individual Unit Size and amenities
*
Opportunity to exchange with other Vacation Ownership /Timeshare Resorts
*
Cost for yearly maintenance
*
Other Vacation Ownership / Timeshare Resorts within the area
*
Resale Value
*
Accessibility - Car, Airport, etc.
*
Surrounding Activities, Sites, Point of Interest
Q: So not just any timeshare company can participate in this program of yours -- thus offering the consumer an added level of security and protection for their investment.
InsiderViewpoint: Yes, that is exactly correct, we have turned down many companies, not that they were bad, it was just because they did not meet the standards I created for my readers with this program.
Q: Richard, before we wrap this, is their any one piece of advice you would give to the potential timeshare investor
InsiderViewpoint: Yes, as we all know, education is priceless, so take a few minutes, come to my web site www.insiderviewpoint.com/TS and get unbiased information about timesharing.. if you, the reader, feels this has an interest to you rather than spending money each year on hotel rooms, then schedule a no obligation 90 minute presentation at the location of your choice and just for getting more knowledge we will send you $125 for attending.
