Launch of New Tour Operator in Dar es Salaam Tanzania

We are pleased to announce the launch of Authentic Tanzania, a new tour operator and ground handler based in Dar es Salaam offering innovative itineraries throughout southern Tanzania and the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia.



With a background of over 10 years experience in the Tanzanian tourism industry, the company offers genuine first hand experience and in depth knowledge of all tourist operations throughout southern Tanzania - where to go, when to go, how to get there, all accommodation options and new and upcoming developments.

The company offers tailor made itineraries and group tours concentrating on the less visited areas of southern Tanzania including road trips combining the wilderness wildlife areas of Selous, Ruaha, Mikumi and Udzungwa Mountains as well as the mainland coast from Saadani down to Mtwara.

Authentic Tanzania uses a fleet of 6 Toyota Landcruisers based in Dar es Salaam with full safari conversions, experienced driver guides and radios equipped for exploratory road trips throughout southern Tanzania.

Alternatively we organize flying safaris connecting all the main tourist areas in southern Tanzania, and in some cases the TAZARA train is used for more adventurous itineraries.



In northern Tanzania we work closely with specialist operators promoting luxury mobile camping operations in private wildlife concessions adjacent to the national parks following the wildlife migration patterns.

For more regular northern safaris we have a sister company based in Arusha with a fleet of 6 Land Cruisers and we use small, intimate camps and lodges in Serengeti, Ngorongoro Highlands, Lake Manyara and Tarangire wherever possible.



In western Tanzania we offer safaris to the little visited Katavi National Park combined with chimpanzee tracking in Mahale Mountains or Gombe Stream working with specialist operators.



The islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia offer picture post card beaches, superb scuba diving, a variety of water based activities and accommodation possibilities to suit all budgets. We have close relationships with the very best accommodation options available on all the islands.



We pay particular attention to those with special interests including trekking Mount Kilimanjaro via the less used routes, walking safaris in Selous and Ngorongoro Highlands, family safaris, scuba diving, sports fishing, horse riding safaris, mountain biking or bird watching.



Our underlying ethos is to promote the less visited areas of Tanzania using small, environmentally responsible camps and lodges whilst offering the highest quality of guiding and service available in each area of Tanzania.
