Rainy Day Memories to Help The Orphan Foundation

Rainy Day Memories, a provider of personalized announcement cards, launched a series of cards in support of The Orphan Foundation. The announcements include birth announcements, invitations, holiday greeting cards, photo montages, calendars, and general photography.

The various offerings can be customized to each client'ss tasks and message, and include photos of themselves, children, families or pets. To see examples of all the offerings, visit: www.RainyDayMemories.com.

A portion of the purchases will be donated to the foundation to help them rescue some of the 163 million children in the world who are orphaned, in foster care facilities, or displaced by armed conflict and disease.

Rainy Day Memories founder, Heather Barnard says that the cost of adoption has skyrocketed out of the reach of most families, averaging nearly $20,000 domestically, and $25,000 to $40,000 internationally. 'sThis creates a huge barrier to solving the orphan crisis,'s according to Mrs. Barnard, a stay-at-home mother of three children. Adoption should be free to any loving family that will open their hearts and homes to these beautiful children, Mrs. Barnard went on to say. As this is the ultimate goal of The Orphan Foundation, Mrs. Barnard is stepping in to help them with their growing backlog of families awaiting financial grants to adopt.

The orphan crisis has reached epic proportions according to co-founder of The Orphan Foundation, Joe DiDonato. 'sThe number of orphans and displaced children in the world exceeds 163 million, creating a population that would make them the 7th largest nation on the planet,'s DiDonato went on to say. 'sIn Eastern Europe, less than 50% will see their 20th birthdays, and of those that do, 50% will turn to crime, drugs, and prostitution to survive. In other parts of the world, children are being used to fight wars or commit terrorist actions.'s For more information on the foundations work, please visit http://www.TheOrphanFoundation.org.

Heather learned about The Orphan Foundation through a BabyFit thread started by another mom who met Joe DiDonato at a conference and was doing some work for the cause herself.

Heather and her husband have considered adopting a fourth child themselves, but since they too have found the costs to be prohibitive, she immediately stepped in to offer her services.
