Silber Conducts his workshops with a PowerPoint, illustrating each point with samples of his photographs while engaging and interacting with the audience. Chris MacAskill, co-founder of SmugMug, said, "folks really enjoyed the workshop: the energy, fun, good photography, Marc really had people involved. They were laughing, engaged, enjoying themselves."
Silber said that he is passionate about helping others express themselves through photography. "I love to show key points I've learned along the way from over 40 years of photography. I'll show examples of tips I've picked up which add to the joy of photography. The art of photography transcends just looking through a camera lens and leads to really seeing life. I'll show how to improve anyone's abilities straight from of the greats of photography: Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and Henri Cartier-Bresson."
SmugMug's Markham Bennett said, "There isn't a pro in the field, any field, that won't tell you that the key to improvement is instruction and practical application. With this in mind, we're presenting this series of workshops for photographers of all levels. By adding the element of Marc's workshops we are taking the next step in our in our mission of devotion to priceless photos."
Silber, a San Francisco peninsula native attended the San Francisco Art Institute, has been a professional photographer for more than 40 years and enjoys teaching photography through his workshops.
