The green efforts include the fact that the recipes are free of synthetic chemicals, parabens or other toxins. Due to its purity, Zosimos Botanicals entire natural cosmetic line is ranked by the Environmental Working Group as posing the lowest hazard in the Skin Deep Database.

In her Contestants Case to Be Considered a Winner, Stein proved how her company continually strives to meet the criteria as Greenest Home-Based Biz of 2008. Committed to social and environmental responsibility, Zosimos Botanicals has sponsored an Intern from Tanzania through Liberty'ss Promise Opportunities Plus program. Zosimos Botanicals educated its local community in the Green Zone of the Celebrate Gaithersburg street festival, and collaborated with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics to provide makeovers to teens at the DC Green Festival.

Additional efforts considered by StartupNation were that Zosimos Botanicals recently sent personal care products to the Breast Cancer Fund Peak Hike event to raise money for Breast Cancer prevention. Zosimos Botanicals is supporting Morgan State University in the RecycleMania competition. Stein also sent natural eye pencils to an Arab outreach program which educates woman on the potential poisoning risk from eye liner.
