Kemah Residents are Pawsitively Excited that Camp Bow Wow is Opening for Business

Tails began wagging on November 15 when the fifth Camp Bow Wow's174; in Texas opened for business in Kemah. Dogs and their two-legged guardians are invited to visit the premier doggy day care and overnight boarding camp located at 300 Anders Lane, Kemah near the corner of 518 and Anders Lane. Pups are invited to come in and experience an entirely new concept in doggy day and overnight care.

Camp Bow Wow's174; has a lot to offer to their furry friends! With its upscale and innovative environment for dogs to play, campers are sure to receive lots of love and attention. Camp Bow Wow's174; Kemah is a state of the art facility that offers many amenities to make sure the pups enjoy their stay. Only at Camp Bow Wow in every nook and cranny of the camp, there are live Camper Cams's174; installed so owners can watch their beloved pooches play all day. Certified Camp Counselors's174; are always present and Camp Bow Wow's174; has a 24 hour monitoring system to ensure all the campers are safe. Camp Bow Wow's174; Kemah has approximately 7500 sq ft of indoor camp and 2500 sq ft of outdoor play area with plenty of shade and puppy playground equipment.

This doggy day care is just different. For one thing, there'ss the all day play. Instead of spending most of the day in a cage, with minimal walks and play time, dogs that visit Camp Bow Wow's174; enjoy most of their time (whether it'ss for day camp or boarding) playing in one of the three large indoor/outdoor play areas.

During the day, campers spend most of their time playing with their four-legged friends, and of course, they all have their favorite Camp Counselor, said owner, Jennifer Zuniga.

At Camp Bow Wow's174; Kemah, day campers find themselves tired out by the end of the day when their guardians come to pick them up. The guests who stay overnight are given a tasty Campfire treat just before being tucked into their own private and spacious cabin.

Another unique quality of the camp is that Certified Camp Counselors's174; are required to monitor the pooches all day and to adhere to the strict camper to counselor ratio for the safety of dogs. The counselors are trained in dog behavior, safety and health management. They are also CPR and First aid trained. Camp Bow Wow's174; knows how dogs play and interact, so they keep all sizes and types of pups very yappy! As an additional safety measure, the camp keeps large and small doggies in separate play areas.

Owners, Al and Jennifer Zuniga both work in the chemical industry but were inspired to open their first Camp Bow Wow's174; from their love for their two Belgian Malinois, Apache and Dani. Apache was found and taken in by the Zuniga'ss at 6 weeks old and Dani was adopted from a rescue organization. Camp Bow Wow plans to use relationships with local rescue organizations and with Bay Area Pet Adoptions to help find homes for foster dogs.

There are a few requirements to be a camper and it all starts with the free interview day. The interview is a meet and greet with dogs of similar size and temperament and both Jennifer and Al advise owners to leave their pooches for the full day. Basically, it'ss a free day of camp and we get to know our future campers on a first name basis, said Al. Campers must be neutered or spayed if over 6-months old, up to date on rabies, distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations, and in good general health.

Camp Bow Wow's174; Kemah will be hosting tours of their facility to all those interested in Thanksgiving and Holiday boarding. Book your free interview day now, as our cabins are filling up fast! Your pup is sure to have a dog-gone great time!
