"Okinawa Rendezvous"
--
From the director of "Fist Of Legend,"Beast Cop" and "Jiang Hu: The Triad Zone,"Okinawa" is a delightful romantic comedy that's often overlooked when one thinks of Leslie Cheung as he also shares the lavish resort setting with comic genius Tony Leung-Ka-fai and the lithe Faye Wong. A mind-bending mix of relationship musical chairs, criminals on the lam and mistaken identities as department file clerk (Leung) decides to close a case by himself by setting up lady-killer criminal Cheung.
[Produced and directed by Gordon Chan; Cast: Tony Leung Ka-fai, Leslie Cheung Kwok-Wing, Faye Wong, Gigi Lai, Vincent Kok and Stephanie Che] (2000, 35mm color, 99 min)In Cantonese, Japanese and English with English subtitles.

"Farewell My Concubine"
-
This film needs no introduction. Even if you've seen it on DVD, there is no substitute for seeing Leslie's exquisite longing reflected from a dressing room mirror on the big screen. Spanning five decades of turbulent Chinese history, FAREWELL is a visually stunning yet intimate chronicle of two boys raised under the strict all-male cult known as the Peking Opera system as they struggle with success, history, gender and the woman who comes between them. Leslie is luminous in this film.
[Directed by Chen Kaige; Cast: Leslie Cheung Kwok-Wing, Fengyi Zhang, Gong Li] (1993, 35mm color, 172 min) In Mandarin with English subtitles
