BreakThru Radio Airing Rough Trade Records Showcase

BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's source for the World's Best Independent Music, announced today that it will air a brand new specialty show from DJ Annie, showcasing the indie label Rough Trade Records. This exciting new show will feature a stacked playlist with many of the talented artists found on the label. The "Rough Trade Records Showcase" is the latest installment in the station's impressive series of record label specialty shows.

Rough Trade Records was set up as a part of the Rough Trade Shop in 1978 by Geoff Travis in West London, England. It became independent from the shop in 1982 before going bankrupt in 1991. It was relaunched in 2000 solely as an independent record label, specializing primarily in alternative rock. Artists such as The Smiths, Babyshambles, and Jarvis Cocker call Rough Trade their home.

"I love featuring label showcases from around the world," says DJ Annie, whose playlist will include songs from artists such as the 1990s, Jeffrey Lewis, Miracle Fortress, and the Dirty Projectors. "One of my all-time favorite bands, The Smiths, released records on Rough Trade back in the day. Their new artists are some of the most talented I've seen lately. I hope this showcase will inspire listeners to get out there and buy their records or catch them live!"

The "Rough Trade Showcase" is available in the station's archive and program guide, along with all of BTR's previous record label showcases and other specialty programs. Listeners can tune in to hear DJ Annie's picks from the Rough Trade Records roster by visiting www.breakthruradio.com and
