For Whom the Blog Rolls Bloggie 0scars Meet Social Networking



Fran Corpier, in cooperation with Yuwie.com is producing the first annual Bloggie 0scars for the social networking site on Wednesday, January 30 at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The event takes place in a blog: http://ww1.yuwie.com/frannieann/. It's a red-carpet affair.



Bloggie 0scars honor the best content creators on Yuwie from 2007. "I'm awarding 13 main categories and seven supporting content categories," said Fran Corpier, producer of the virtual event.



Recipients know they are being honored, but do not know the category they have won. They have been encouraged to bring an escort and arrive in limos, Prius, golf carts, motorcycles or dream "rides". All virtual. Thanks to Photoshop(tm) and similar image manipulation programs.



Buzz is building around the event. Friends of the recipients have been invited to cheer their friends when awards are announced. "Cheering" is typing or pasting image comments onto the blog.



A "Green Room" will be set up for Internet radio, podcasters and press to interview Bloggie 0scar Award winners. Red Carpet arrival interviews, however, will be a "free for all in keeping with the spirit of entertainment," said Corpier.



Bloggie 0scar categories include "Most Globally Aware", "Healthiest", "Best Comedy", "Most Inspired" and "Best Spot News". Supporting content categories include "Best New Music Video", "Best Photography", "Best Travel Photo Album" and "Best Layout".



Fran Corpier, an internet application developer and publisher, was voted Best Yuwie in 2007. Yuwie.com is her first social networking experience. Bloggie 0scar is spelled with a leading zero, so as not to be confused with the trademarked and unrelated award for movies.
