At the Kruger St Toy and train Museum, plans are under way for a rather unique event, not simply because it's8217;s a toy convention but because it's8217;s a gathering of old friends who
have never met.
This Saturday's8217;s 's8220;MegoMeet's8221; convention is a prime example, a gathering of people from a web community, in this case toy collectors from the website Megomuseum which is
dedicated to toys from a defunct 1970's8217;s company, that have been in close contact for years and only meeting for the first time.
's8220;I have people who request name tags that have their website user name instead of their real name's8221; claims Dave McCormick one of the organizers of Megomeet, he adds 's8220;I
guess it's8217;s so people will be able to recognize them easier's8221;
Even with the convenience of the internet and the ability to make transactions from their desktop, many people come from across the world to attend such events.
's8220;A face to face meeting is priceless's8221; says Brian Heiler, editor at the Megomuseum who is coming from Canada to attend the convention 's8220;I's8217;ve never met my partner at
the Museum, yet we's8217;re in contact almost every day, it's8217;s about time I changed that.'s8221;
