Razoo March Goodness Contest Raises Over 160000 for Social Causes

Today Razoo.com (http://www.razoo.com) announced the winners of its 2009 March Goodness Contest, which raised over $160,000 for charitable organizations. Razoo rewarded the non-profit groups that recruited the most donor supporters, as well as three randomly selected Lucky Draw organizations, with a total of $18,500 in grants. The March Goodness Contest was an initiative to encourage online philanthropy and introduce non-profits to the fundraising tools of Razoo.com.

The top $10,000 grant was awarded to Big Cat Rescue (http://www.razoo.com/organization/Big-Cat-Rescue-Corp), a non-profit devoted to rescuing and providing a permanent home for exotic cats (such as tigers, lions, snow leopards, bobcats, and lynxes) that have been abused, abandoned, or saved from slaughter.

Founder Carole Baskin shared that Razoo'ss online donation tools provided a much more effective way to raise funds than their typical methods. Our donors really liked how easy it was for them, and that all of their donation was actually going to the cause and not processing or admin fees, she added. Baskin, who recruited 957 supporters through the fundraising page she created for Big Cat Rescue, also received an iPod Touch as the 1st place volunteer fundraiser prize.

The $18,500 March Goodness Contest celebrates Razoo'ss new online donation and fundraising platform (http://www.razoo.com). Razoo provides a variety of fundraising tools to non-profits and their supporters, free of charge, in order to facilitate more effective online donations and fundraising. For example, individuals can create personalized Fundraising Pages for their favorite non-profits, using photos, videos, and personal accounts to reach out and raise funds among their networks.
