It looks like the bears at Tedde speak a world of languages. The company recently announced the winners of its first-ever Teddy Bear Makeover Challenge (www.teddybearmakeover.com), and the 18 winning designs represent a United Nations of creativity, personality and love.
Artists from Belgium, Canada, Colombia, England, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Serbia, Singapore and Spain knocked the stuffing out of the competition. Of
course, the United States is represented as well, with winning designs from Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana and New York artists.
Tedde, the Manhattan-based teddy bear company celebrated for its fresh approach to the creation of teddy bears, is known for its innovation. The company teams with designers to create
original, handcrafted bears in small, limited-edition quantities.
We'sre overwhelmed by the global response we received, said Tedde'ss founder and president, Sky Khan.
Choosing the winners was such a difficult decision, added Khan. There are so many talented individuals and it was an honor to have them submit their designs to Tedde.
Khan was quick to note that many of the winners have opted to donate their prizes to support Tedde'ss charity of choice: protecting endangered polar bears.
With the first Teddy Bear Makeover Challenge turning out to be such a success, it looks like bear season will be back again this summer.
We want to build on the first contest, said Khan. The world can always use more Teddes--and more bear hugs.

About Tedde--Tedde is a designer plush company based in New York City'ss historic Garment District. Dedicated to teddy bear design and innovation, the company collaborates with designers
worldwide to create modern handmade bears stuffed with personality.
Tedde believes that every teddy bear should be an individual--not like those factory-made bears that fall off the assembly line looking exactly alike. For that reason, every Tedde is
imaginatively conceptualized and created by a real person. All Teddes incorporate earth-friendly textiles such as natural cotton and recycled felt, as well as all new materials such as
minky and microsuede. The complete Tedde collection includes Tedde Gold, the Teddy Bear Makeover line, Bear Food and the signature ILIKEU puffy hearts.
Tedde is a progressive, community-minded company that passionately supports the handmade movement, welcomes community participation and collaborates with and advocates for local and
international designers. The company is also deeply committed to helping protect endangered polar bears.
