The Next Generation Search Engine Has Arrived and It Is Powered by...

Huckabuck.com enhances Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines by offering its users a way to customize their search. Huckabuck flips the notion of a one-size-fits-all search engine on its head by allowing its users to tune their own search settings. Three new search feeds have been added including tag search, blog search, and news search into its interface. These new search feeds are powered by del.icio.us, Technorati, and Digg, respectively.



Huckabuck employs Search Tuners that act like graphic equalizers to weight each search engine according to an individual's8217;s preferences. Additionally, Huckabuck has grouped the most useful Search Tuner settings into Presets, including: metasearch, blog search, shopping, research and technology search.



To see the value in this approach, take for example a user searching for Bill Gates. Does he intended to return historical information or recent news about Gates Using the Metasearch Preset for the phrase, 's8220;bill gates,'s8221; would return biographical information (similar to Google) about the Microsoft founder. However, using the Blog Search Preset, Huckabuck would return results that reflect Gate's8217;s recent announcement to retire in 2007.

Digg is a community powered technology news Web site, and the Digg feed includes news items in their search results.
