Lose your TV Signal Find it on TVMap.org

TVMap.org makes it really easy to find out which TV Stations switched from analog to digital broadcast on February 17, 2009. The TV Map shows the location of every TV tower in the country and when they are scheduled to change to digital broadcast.

See the map at: http://TVMap.org

TV Stations on the TV Map have 3 classifications:

Green = Transitioned to Digital TV before February 17, 2009

Yellow = DTV Transition on February 17,2009

Red = DTV Transition on June 12, 2009

Rabbit lost his Number

Rabbit ears users will also find the quick station look up handy for finding the new digital station channel numbers. You can search by geography (just zoom into your area or enter your address), or by the name of your local network or station.

Genuinely Geeky

TVMap.org also shows the signal strength of every broadcast station (nearly 2,000 of them) in kilowatts using an innovative heat map overlay powered by technology from http://MapLarge.com. Switch to satellite view to stare down a cancer tower near you. You can also click on any station to see more detailed information including the full station call sign, analog and digital channel numbers, network affiliation and the name of the underlying FCC license holder.

No TV for Geeks

Although it'ss a hotbed of technological innovation, Silicon Valley has been slow to embrace the transition to Digital TV. Many of the Valley'ss TV Stations will wait until the June 12 deadline to transition to DTV and almost none elected to make Digital TV upgrades prior to the original deadline of February 17th. Looks like this is one tech innovation Silicon Valley won'st lead.
