May 8, 2005 -- Everybody has heard of the recent high profile auctions that have appeared on eBay throughout the last several months. Ghost canes, Human Ad Space, and mystery items have
been running amok since the overwhelming success of the Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich that took the world by storm last year. Until today, the only thing that linked these auctions
together was their winning bidder. Online casino GoldenPalace.com known for their interest in off the wall items, was the winning bidder in many of these auctions, spending as high as
$68,000 for the famous Ghost Cane. Recently, however, Andrew Fischer, a.k.a. the "Forehead Guy," known for his $37,375 forehead advertising sale on eBay, had another idea. He launched an
online community focusing around high profile auctions, creating a place for both veterans and those new to the concept to discuss online auctions of the high profile nature.
Members were encouraged to talk about interesting auctions that they find, and also get suggestions for their own items. The website grew quickly in content as more and more people became
members. Many of the sellers of the famous items we all know and love had become members as well. One of the members had shared that her son had a breathing problem. She had hoped to
receive some advice for her auction which she had hoped would help pay for the expensive equipment.
Jennifer Browning (New Albany, MS), took it upon herself to rally fellow members of AuctionSightings.com together and create an auction based on their group efforts. Each member involved
has set aside a "mystery" package or packages of their own. The winning bidder will receive an unknown amount of packages, from all over North America. Mary Anderson (Ghost Cane), Andrew
Fischer (Human Ad Space), as well as the sellers of the Mystery Pudding, Mystery Bank Account, AWOL Husband's Box of stuff, Fairy Bones, The Human Casino Chip, to name a few, are involved
with the auction in one way or another. All of the proceeds from the auction will be used to help a member by the alias of "Mina" whom none of these people have ever met. In response to
the auction, she was quoted saying "I just don't know what to say to all of you wonderful people!! I'm just totally speechless as what you are doing for Quillan. We are truly blessed to
know you."
The auction can be viewed by going to eBay and entering the item number 5579079216, or by visiting the website AuctionSightings.com.
