A Soldiers Video Marry Me at Robbins Brothers

U.S. Army Corporal Jerry Davenport, a 27-year-old soldier stationed in Iraq, popped the question to the love of his life Jeannie Klepper (age 29), on a big-screen television monitor at Robbins Brothers, World'ss Biggest Engagement Ring Store's174; in Arlington, Texas on Nov. 21, 2008.

In Iraq with limited resources but ready to propose marriage as soon as possible, Jerry had no idea how he would make it happen, but decided to enlist the help of Robbins Brothers's engagement consultants a few weeks ago. He visited the company'ss website (www.robbinsbros.com) and emailed his inquiry:

I am in Iraq and we want to get married as soon as I get back in March. I have kind of mentioned marriage on the phone and she is ready. So what I'sm dealing with is picking out her ring online and sending it to her but I need to figure out a way to make a great proposal and get her the ring. What ideas do you have

Daniel Decker in Robbins Brothers's Ring Center immediately responded to Jerry'ss inquiry, involved the Arlington store associates, and all worked closely together to find the perfect heart-shaped diamond ring for Jeannie and also plan a memorable surprise proposal.

As part of the plan, Jeannie arrived at Robbins Brothers in Arlington with two of her best girlfriends, under the impression that she was there to redeem a gift certificate for a contest she won. However, she was in store for much more as Kelly Roddy, general manager of the Arlington store, led her to the store'ss lounge to watch a congratulatory message from Chief Engagement Officer Steve Robbins. To Jeannie'ss surprise, the pre-recorded video was actually of Jerry professing his love for her with Will You Marry Me dressed in uniform with his weapon in hand.

I am still in disbelief, said Jeannie. The entire experience was amazing and I feel so blessed to have a guy like Jerry in my life. I'sm sad he won'st be here for the holidays but the fact that I am now his fianc's233; gives me a lot to be thankful for. I couldn'st stop crying at first!

After the proposal the store presented Jeannie with a bouquet of flowers, balloons and a champagne toast. There wasn'st a dry eye in sight as customers and employees joined in to celebrate. Jerry returns to the states in March and he and Jeannie plan to marry then.
