Marriott International Opens Doors at the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing

Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) has opened the flagship 588-room JW Marriott Hotel Beijing in Beijing, China, under a management agreement with Hua Mao Surapan Hotel Development Company. The luxurious 23-story hotel was designated as Marriott's "3,000th" property.

The hotel is located adjacent to the soon to open 305-room The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing. The two hotels anchor Beijing's newest and most prestigious luxury address, China Central Place. The bold new complex features more than 230,000 square meters of high-end office space; eight residential towers; 160,000 square meters of luxury brand retail shops, such as Ferragamo and Gucci; and spacious green areas and a sports center.

Three suites feature individual hydrotherapy tubs.

Quan's extensive menu features a wide range of massage, facial and body therapies. Signature treatments include the Marine Detox, a relaxing bath using marine salts, algae and essential oils to eliminate toxins and improve vitality and the Ocean Rainshower Body Treatment designed to invigorate the body with an aromatic body scrub applied under the soothing water jets of a Vichy Shower.

The managing director of the hotel is Robert Lohrmann and the general manager is Franco Io. Don Lau is the director of sales and marketing and Joan Pan is the director of communications. The hotel is offering an exclusive opening rate of RMB 1,450 per night (USD $193) plus 15% surcharge until Feb. 29, 2008.
