Mesa Photographer Earns Coveted Certification



James Walls of Fourwalls Photographic, LLC in Mesa, AZ has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission.



James Walls earned this designation after meeting rigorous requirements measuring his artistic and technical competence. The Professional Photographic Certification Commission currently recognizes less than 2,000 Certified Professional Photographers. Nationwide, less than 3% of photographers hold this designation, only 35 in AZ. Certified Professional Photographers must complete a written examination, an image evaluation by qualified judges, and adhere to a strict code of conduct. James passed the exam on the first attempt, and met the image requirements within the minimum time. Certification must be renewed on a periodic basis, ensuring continuing confidence in photographic professionalism. This ensures Certified Photographers maintain their level of expertise, and continue to develop new skills and techniques.

In an era when Uncle Joe can buy the same high-end digital SLR camera as a professional, what differentiates professionals is their intimate knowledge of lighting, composition, and posing. The rigorous certification image review is conducted by a panel of accredited judges from around the country, and James's photographs clearly exceeded the requirements.



A Photograph James recently submitted to a competition at the Arizona PPA annual state convention won both a coveted 'smerit's award, and also a 'sjudges choice's ribbon from a judge who was so enamored with James's delicate artistic treatment of a ballet photograph that he said it reminded him of a Degas painting. James, and his wife Jane, work together as a team on many assignments, their complementary skills blending together to provide a more personal level of service than many clients are accustomed to. We don'st see ourselves as being in competition with those 'sshoot-and-burn's wedding photographers, says Jane, a reference to a recent trend where brides are sometimes given nothing more than a CD of images from which they must try and resurrect the magic of their special day.



It'ss so important to us that we get it right, down to the smallest details, stresses James. We typically pre-scout our locations several times until we are happy with the lighting and the angles we will encounter on the day, particularly for high-school seniors, family re-unions, and birthdays.
