A new company has entered the snowboard industry. Morrell Boards is changing the snowboard industry with an online custom snowboard shop. The customer creates their Rite Ride by selecting all goods used for the manufacturing of their board, from the type of construction to the core, base and graphic.
Many people have been in the market for a new snowboard but became frustrated because the desired features were not available in one board. www.morrellboards.com has a unique approach to purchasing a snowboard. Customers can now choose everything that goes into the making of a board from
construction to what core, base, and sidewalls to be used.
Choosing a size:
The first step is choosing the right size of board. The size of a snowboard board should not be determined by if the length of the board touches your nose or any other body part.
Snowboards react to pressure and how pressure is applied to the board. If you are heavier than average for your height, you will want a longer board. If you are light for your height,
pick a shorter board. You will also want to think of what style of boarding you enjoy. If it is freestyle (This style focuses on jumps, tricks, rail slides, halfpipes, and switch riding)
then you may want stay within the lower length range for easier mobility and swing. If you are a freerider (open terrain, backcountry chutes, fresh powder, trees -- as well as an
afternoon spent in the park or in a freshly cut pipe) the longer length range will allow higher speeds without floating and keep the board on top of the powder.
The formula below will help in choosing the right size but is just a guide because it is about preference of the rider.
Your Height in Inches x 2.54 x .88= Low Length Range (Freestyle)
Your Height in Inches x 2.54 x .91= High Length Range (Freerider)
Construction:
The most popular type of construction is the sandwich construction type because of the ability to put colored sidewalls on the snowboard but if you want cap construction it'ss available.
Selecting a Base:
Morrell Boards offers three different types of sintered bases. The graphic base offers a quality base with the ability to sublimate graphics. The 4001Gallium and CarbonX bases have
gallium or carbon added to the sintered material. Gallium and carbon additives are conductive, thus dissipating static charges between the base and the snow. Low static means less drag
which translates into more speed. Graphite/carbon base is the fastest type of snowboard base and has a higher capacity to hold wax. It is produced by pre-compounding polyethylene with a
small amount of graphite. While not necessary, a graphite wax works best for maintaining a graphite/carbon base. The Gallium and CarbonX type of base is always a solid color of black
(graphics can not be applied to this base).

Selecting a Core:
The stiffer the board the faster it is but the more difficult it can be to ride, especially if you are a novice. Wood cores allow flex and absorption for pipes, rails, jumping, carving,
and rough snow. Morrell Boards does not manufacture snowboards without wood cores for this purpose. A soft wood has more flex characteristics. This means the board absorbs the lumps and
bumps making it easier for you to ride. Morrell Boards offers three different types of cores.
Core#1: All Mountain/Park vertically laminated core has birch binding hole durability stringers. Great for all mountain and park riding. This board has more flex than the Stiffy.
Core#2: All Mountain/Park Stiffy vertically laminated core, with binding hole and edge protecting birch, is a more firm core to endure speed down the parks slopes and rails. All
mountain/park riders enjoy this core for a smooth ride with lots of pop. Speed, pop, and edge protection make this the perfect all mountain/park board.
Core#3: Freestyle is the lightest available wood core. It uses four strips of ultra light Paulownia. If you are a freestyle type of rider this is the core for you!
