Women & Wine (http://www.WomenWine.com), the niche lifestyle company for lovers of wine, travel, good food and living well, has joined with partner Sofitel (http://www.sofitel.com), the luxury brand of Accor hotels, to present Reading Glasses, a series of author readings and wine tasting events at Sofitel hotels.
"Our members are interested in meeting like-minded people to connect with while sharing a glass, enjoying delicious food and great conversation. Sofitel's offerings such as the Wine
Flight Program and French sensibility makes the hotel brand an ideal partner for our first series of Reading Glasses events," said Women & Wine CEO & Founder Julie Brosterman.
Kathleen Flinn's book, "The Sharper Your Knife The Less You Cry: Love, Laughter, and Tears at the World's Most Famous Cooking School," published by Viking, tells the story of a woman who
decides to break out of the corporate mold and go to the famed Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris. The Reading Glass series of events kicks off in Philadelphia on October 18 and
continues on to Washington D.C., Miami, Los Angeles, Redwood City and ends in Chicago on November 6.
"Working with Women & Wine and Sofitel on these events is the 'perfect pairing' for my audience who loves all things French - and certainly enjoys wine and good food. I'm looking
forward to being the first author for these Reading Glasses events and am delighted that each of the guests will receive one of my books as a gift from Sofitel," said Flinn.
The Sofitel/Women & Wine partnership began in August 2006 when the company was engaged to give a feminine perspective to the wine flight program being launched at the U.S. hotels and
collaborated on collateral for the program producing tasting note sheets for consumers and a wine education booklet.
"We have enjoyed our relationship with Women & Wine because they have helped us re-introduce our U.S. properties to their members throughout the U.S. who are busy professional women
who care about food and wine," said Accor Vice President Craig Cunningham. "We discovered that the Women & Wine member appreciates what Sofitel has to offer and it gives us the
opportunity to market to women with a program that is compatible with their lifestyle."
Women & Wine created a sweepstakes that will include a trip for two to Paris with three nights accommodations at Sofitel, airfare by American Airlines, select cooking classes at
Cordon Bleu and a tour of Paris with Kathleen Flinn (subject to availability). Members of Women & Wine (http://www.WomenWine.com) are
automatically entered, but others can sign up to win on the Web site beginning October 5, 2007. Sweepstakes ends December 31, 2007, and the trip is valid throughout 2008 (subject to
availability).
