BidAlot online auction opens its doors to nonPaypal users
In a recent interview Sharon Davis was asked "why when 'Paypal Only' was obviously the reason many people used http://www.bid-alot.com , had she decided to allow non-Paypal users to use their auction site"
Sharon's response was clear, "We have not simply opened our doors to anyone. Our team has been looking at every possible option available over the last 6 months in finding a way of allowing only legitimate buyers and sellers to join our busy auction site, whilst being able to maintain our No Fraud or Scams record. These changes have now been implemented with a two tier registration process - Users can now choose to verify their accounts for free by simply adding a valid credit card through our secure process or by verifying through Paypal with a $1 fee. Users who join with a credit card do not receive a bonus credit although users who spend $1 through Paypal receive $15 credit for taking this extra step.
Paypal verified users also receive a logo on all items stating their have verified their account and have the option to only allow other Paypal verified to bid on their items.
We have also added other security measures to block unwanted countries and people hiding behind proxys from being able to register. This in itself has been a fantastic addition in stopping scammers from even getting in the door."
With over 5000 verified members, an Alexa traffic rank of 30,000 and growing all the time Christmas 2005 promises great things for Bid-Alot.
Sharon also mentioned that Bid-Alot also promotes all items on Bid-find, BidHopper, Usenet and Froogle. Onwards and Upwards!
