New Online Store Targets Milestone Birthday Turning 50 Demands Something Extra Founder Says



As she approached her 50th birthday at the beginning of this year, Karen Warshaw - jeweler, designer and event planner - couldn't shake the feeling that something special was happening.

People she hadn't seen in years were calling to wish her a happy birthday, and other friends also turning 50 were talking about the birthday as a time when they, too, wanted to renew connections with old friends.

As she was buying gifts, Warshaw found herself looking for something extra special, "a gift that had some meaning."
