As of 2004, Woman have comprised 51.6% of US Internet users, and that figure is expected to rise. This growth is already affecting everyone who does business on the Internet.

Females have long embraced the Internet as a communications medium, having shown strong interests in online games, health content and music, but now adult women, who dominate consumer spending offline, are shifting more and more of their shopping online.

As the female influence grows across the Internet, companies will need to adjust and shift to selling techniques that appeal to women, including word-of-mouth marketing, personalized e-mail and relationship-building continuity programs.
