Through complex analysis, Busi-Bee.com (http://www.busi-bee.com/) has found that Amazon.com provided the best overall quality of service (QoS) to their end users with a ranking of 100.000%, while Overstock.com had the lowest ranking relative to the companies referenced in this study with 90.734%
San Diego, CA September 12, 2006 -- For this report made on Monday, September 11th, 2006, Busi-Bee.com took 18292 samples from the websites of Amazon.com Level 3 Communications, Apple
Computer, Alcatel, Lucent, and Overstock.com during the entire day of Sunday, September 10th, 2006, and analyzed the data to compile the following results in order of best QoS to worse,
precluded by an overall summary as follows;
Through complex analysis, Busi-Bee.com (http://www.busi-bee.com/) has found that Amazon.com provided the best overall quality of service (QoS) to
their end users with a ranking of 100.000%, while Overstock.com had the lowest ranking relative to the companies referenced in this study with 90.734%
Amazon.com has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 100.000%. The best response hour was at 3pm with
minimum and average latencies of 0.080154 and 0.924429 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 6am with latencies of 4.533533 and 0.974614 seconds. The average latency for the day
is about 0.910 with a mean latency of 0.079 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Level 3 Communications has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 100.000%. The best response hour was at
3pm with minimum and average latencies of 0.080219 and 0.165991 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 6pm with latencies of 5.243836 and 0.282843 seconds. The average latency for
the day is about 0.198 with a mean latency of 0.071 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Apple Computer has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 100.000%. The best response hour was at 4am with
minimum and average latencies of 0.045488 and 0.153326 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 12am with latencies of 2.162248 and 0.238185 seconds. The average latency for the day
is about 0.185 with a mean latency of 0.065 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Alcatel has provided their site users with what we deem as pretty good quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 96.060%. The best response hour was at 7pm with minimum
and average latencies of 0.080210 and 20.814377 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 7pm with latencies of 904.138599 (we consider this unreachable) and 20.814377 seconds. The
average latency for the day is about 8.813 with a mean latency of 19.469 seconds, we consider this bad site delivery consistency for the day. This is usually the result of some server
down time within the day.
Lucent has provided their site users with what we deem as good quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 94.930%. The best response hour was at 2pm with minimum and
average latencies of 0.080142 and 1.361105 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 6pm with latencies of 19.310207 and 2.378757 seconds. The average latency for the day is about
1.795 with a mean latency of 0.519 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Overstock.com has provided their site users with what we deem as reasonable quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 90.734%. The best response hour was at 12am with
minimum and average latencies of 0.080093 and 4.680197 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 7pm with latencies of 901.017677 (we consider this unreachable) and 88.207671
seconds. The average latency for the day is about 22.412 with a mean latency of 43.852 seconds, we consider this slightly erratic site delivery consistency for the day.
