For this report made on Saturday, September 9th, 2006, Busi-Bee.com took 15459 samples from the websites of Best Buy, Level 3 Communications, Google, Overstock.com LookSmart, and Lucent
during the entire day of Friday, September 8th, 2006, and analyzed the data to compile the following results in order of best QoS to worse, precluded by an overall summary as follows;
Through complex analysis, Busi-Bee.com (http://www.busi-bee.com/) has found that Best Buy provided the best overall quality of service (QoS) to
their end users with a ranking of 99.586%, while Lucent had the lowest ranking relative to the companies referenced in this study with 96.066%
Best Buy has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 99.586%. The best response hour was at 2am with minimum
and average latencies of 0.079811 and 0.316081 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 6am with latencies of 20.745776 (we consider this unreachable) and 0.939925 seconds. The
average latency for the day is about 0.502 with a mean latency of 0.639 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Level 3 Communications has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 99.586%. The best response hour was at 5am
with minimum and average latencies of 0.080238 and 0.166730 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 9pm with latencies of 26.284947 (we consider this unreachable) and 0.708145
seconds. The average latency for the day is about 0.285 with a mean latency of 0.702 seconds, we consider this bad site delivery consistency for the day. This is usually the result of
some server down time within the day.
Google has provided their site users with what we deem as excellent quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 99.586%. The best response hour was at 11pm with minimum
and average latencies of 0.043747 and 0.124949 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 3pm with latencies of 20.027049 (we consider this unreachable) and 1.124725 seconds. The
average latency for the day is about 0.251 with a mean latency of 0.502 seconds, we consider this bad site delivery consistency for the day. This is usually the result of some server down
time within the day.
Overstock.com has provided their site users with what we deem as very good quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 98.654%. The best response hour was at 6am with
minimum and average latencies of 0.080031 and 0.627387 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 8am with latencies of 192.824458 (we consider this unreachable) and 17.339663
seconds. The average latency for the day is about 1.717 with a mean latency of 8.409 seconds, we consider this bad site delivery consistency for the day. This is usually the result of
some server down time within the day.
LookSmart has provided their site users with what we deem as very good quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 98.552%. The best response hour was at 9am with minimum
and average latencies of 0.080121 and 0.638796 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 10pm with latencies of 37.217305 (we consider this unreachable) and 1.569580 seconds. The
average latency for the day is about 0.976 with a mean latency of 0.851 seconds, we consider this excellent site delivery consistency for the day.
Lucent has provided their site users with what we deem as pretty good quality of service yesterday, with an overall QoS ranking of 96.066%. The best response hour was at 3am with minimum
and average latencies of 0.079975 and 0.301119 seconds respectively, and the worse hour being 10pm with latencies of 113.117477 (we consider this unreachable) and 4.136503 seconds. The
