Delamina, the new fine jewelry site that speaks directly to women, and provides them with a place to explore their own unique style in a fun and relaxed environment is now showcasing the classic, feminine designs of Akiyo Matsuoka.



Delamina features an amazing group of designers and I am excited to be featured on the site, stated Matsuoka. I really like that it encourages women to buy jewelry for themselves. I see my ideal customer as someone with a strong sense of style and who knows what she likes - this fits in very nicely with Delamina'ss philosophy.



Frustrated by the lack of quality jewelry available on the market, Akiyo decided to pursue her love of art and sculpting and began her career as a jewelry designer in the early 1990s. She most enjoys working with yellow gold, semi-precious stones, diamonds and pearls, and draws much of the inspiration for her pieces from the sights and sounds of nature.



My inspiration comes from all kinds of natural surroundings, stated Matsuoka. I love creating pieces that reflect different aspects of nature, such as a leaf, twig, vines, or the moonlight reflecting off of water, and then reinterpreting and simplifying the shapes into my own unique designs. I believe that jewelry should be simple and delicate but also make a statement.



Delamina features an initial set of 20 jewelry designers with approximately one-thousand pieces ranging in price from $200 to $300,000. They are currently actively seeking hot new designers who meet the highest quality standards.
