CORDIS Launches Revamped Austrian Research and Innovation Service

CORDIS has updated its Austrian Member State service - part of the CORDIS Gateway to National and Regional Activities - with newly expanded information on Austrian activities in research and innovation. CORDIS, the EU's official online service on research and innovation, has developed the new site in close collaboration with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture (bm:bwk), partly in preparation for the Austrian presidency of the EU Council in 2006.

Under the heading 'Austria in EU R&D', the revamped CORDIS service provides comprehensive information on Austrian participation in the Fifth and the current Sixth European Framework Programmes for research, including a search facility for projects in FP5 and FP6 with Austrian participation. The headings 'FP6' and 'FP5' also include analyses of Austrian participation in the Framework Programmes, as well as information on the structures and practicalities of funding, useful contacts and links to relevant institutions in the field.

Policy information is available on the preparation of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) and the European Research Area in Austria, as well as on Austria's national research and technology policy, and national research and technology programmes. Along with other CORDIS national services, the revamped Austrian information service aims to provide access to country-specific information and contacts, and contribute to increased coordination among EU Member States.
